Workforce Solutions is excited to announce a new training program,
funded through Travis County, that provides training to specific
populations. The Gainful Employment Model (GEM) can assist you in
training for a career in one of the following occupations:
Profession Program Length Avg. Salary with experience
Administrative Assistant 7 weeks $17.76/hr
Bookkeeping 10 weeks $15.43/hr
Automotive Technician 12 months $17.90/hr
Pharmacy Technician 9-12 months $14.28/hr
Who can participate?
· Eligible individuals include: formerly incarcerated persons,
recipients of Travis County
emergency assistance or other public assistance, persons with a
disability, or a young adults
aging out of the foster care system.
· Travis County resident
· 18 years or older
· Eligible to work in the U.S.
· High School graduate or GED
What do I receive?
· Vocational assessment to help guide your selection of appropriate
training choices
· Training in a high-demand occupation
· Sponsorship for tuition, books and related training expenses
· Job placement assistance upon successful completion of training
